Over the years, ArcticJam has grown into a festival with international recognition and participation. As a free subculture festival, we are built on the following values:
Our goal is to highlight artists from Northern Norway and strengthen their connection to the region. We aim to provide musicians with a stage, opportunities to gain experience, and a strong foundation from which current and future artists can grow and develop within the genres we represent.
We work to enrich the urban landscape of Tromsø with a more artistic and vibrant atmosphere. We do this through the annual production of street art, by inviting both Northern Norwegian and international artists, and by creating exhibitions and digital art projects rooted in hip-hop culture.
Our ambition is to establish ArcticJam as a recognized international gathering for hip-hop culture in an Arctic setting. We aim to attract some of the world’s leading dance artists to Northern Norway—not only to compete, but also to inspire and create opportunities for children and young people—while strengthening and developing the regional hip-hop community.
